Our Sustainability Practices

CJ May lives his message.   His family purchases most of its food from local or organic sources. CJ and his wife, Becky, even created “the Connecticut Diet”, eating almost exclusively from Connecticut-grown sources in the mid-1990s. This was far before the term “locavore” became popular.

Because of their extremely low electrical bill their home was one of several selected by People's Action for Clean Energy (PACE) for extensive internal monitoring of electrical use. The study will aid the utility in identifying how other homeowners can follow suit.

CJ keeps his travel foot print small by driving to most of his local performances in the family’s Prius, a hybrid which gets more than 45 mpg on the highway. CJ has even traveled to a number of performance venues on the Yale campus using only bicycle as transport for himself and his magic props.
